This week I really haven´t been able to do much because we have only had two classes, however I was able to make three rings. I have shaped them and am currently polishing\cleaning them. Last week I attempted to make orbit rings but they were to small for the base of the spinner rings. So i restarted this week and could have made a very bad mistake again thankfully Ms.Bunnell was able to show me some books that use different techniques to make orbit rings.
So what I am hoping to do is to bring my three rings to a mirror finish, and then saw the three rings making one opening, allowing me to attach one to the other rings easily at the soldering table. Then I will keep the three connected rings into the pickle for the weekend.

So this past week I decided that the rings that I was making for my spinner ring was not really gonna work that well. So i look though all the sheets that Ms.Bunnell gave to me and I found these orbit rings and decided that I wanted to make them. So I measured and cut the wire and formed the rings.
There were two things that I realized were gonna cause some issues. The first one was that re-shaping the rings into a smooth ring shape was very difficult. Then I went to go put the rings onto the base they did not fit. So next class I am going to make sure my calculations and measurements are exact,so that my rings fit onto the base. This week I have started to make my very first spinner ring. So far I have played with different ring styles to put on the base and I have also constructed the base of my ring. Doing this I have faced some challenges, one of my biggest challenges was that when I soldered my base together i realized that the two ends were not even. So know during my next class I will have to even the edges out with the belt sander. Once I am done with evening the edges I will bring it to a mirror finish and work on my rings for it. I really want to try and make an orbit ring for it. |
